COURSE INFORMATION

PRE-REQUISITES:
Minimum -18 years of age
passport photo required
You should be physically fit and unaffected by any disability or medical condition that may prevent you from working safely. Ensure that you have an adequate level of fitness, are physically able to perform the tasks expected in terms of strength, agility and coordination, and are able to withstand the stresses of the working (training) environment, such as heat, cold, and other inclement weather.
You are required to certify that you are fit to attend the course by completing a medical self-assessment form.
If you have a contra-indicated condition which is controlled with medication, you will need to bring a signed doctor’s note to show us that the condition will not prevent you from taking part.

WHO IS THE COURSE SUITABLE FOR?
The course is designed to provide you with basic Level 1 to more advanced skills at Levels 2 & 3, that will enable you to work at height in a safe manner in a variety of environments using a variety of techniques.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
At the end of the course you will:
Demonstrate knowledge of hazards and risks associated with working at height.
Demonstrate an understanding of current and national legislation regarding working at heights.
Demonstrate correct identification, selection and use of PPE and its suitability for specific tasks
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to correctly Pre-inspect equipment,
Clean, store and wear the relevant PPE.
Demonstrate a range of rope access skills and manoeuvres according to the level of Qualification sitting

Delegates should consider their experience carefully before attempting to progress to a higher level. Candidates without appropriate experience, adequate pre-assessment training and knowledge of the syllabus are unlikely to meet the required standard when assessed.

 

ASSESSMENT
You will be formerly assessed by an independent assessor on day 5 of your course, further training may be advised if not meeting the required standard.

 

CERTIFICATION
On Successful completion of your course, you will receive temporary results of competence from your assessor. Your details will then be uploaded onto IRATA website and official certificate, card and logbook (those new to IRATA)  will be sent to you separately
