WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
The successful growth of the Global Wind Energy Industry has developed an ongoing demand for the repair and maintenance of wind turbine blades.  This ECITB Accredited course is designed to cater for both new entrants to the sector or those already active in the wind industry and looking to upskill and update their knowledge.

PRE-REQUISITES
There are no formal qualification requirements to enrol onto the course. PPE will be provided however, delegates will need to bring their own safety footwear.

Over 18’s

Medical self-assessment form – this will be given to you at the start of your course

COURSE OVERVIEW
This 2-week course will provide delegates with the thorough hands-on skills and knowledge required to join the wind industry as a BLADE TECHNICIAN.

Delivered from our bespoke training centre and instructed by our experienced technicians, candidates will receive the best possible start to a successful career in the industry.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
1. Explain and demonstrate safe working practices
2. Explain  and demonstrate safe use of tools
3. Explain and demonstrate safe use of hazardous materials including Epoxy and Glove penetration
4. Demonstrate the correct use of PPE and RPE.
5. Describe and prepare a range of tools and equipment
6. Describe and prepare a range of materials
7. Explain and prepare the work area
8. Inspect the work area to ascertain the full scope of the task
9. Explain a range of wind turbine blade structures
10. List a range of repair specifications
11. Explain a range of wind turbine blade repair processes
12. Explain and demonstrate inspection processes
13. Carry out a range of wind turbine blade repairs

LANGUAGE
It is a requirement that all delegates have a basic understanding and a conversational use of English. Delegates who do not meet this requirement will not be allowed to attend the course (unless the course is approved by the ECITB to be delivered in another language with an ECITB approved translator)

ASSESSMENT
At the end of this course, there will be a practical assessment on a full blade repair and a multiple choice knowledge test with a pass rate of 80%
